Background:
The school is situated in a 'modern' building in the rural village of Crowle, close to Scunthorpe. The grounds provide a 'large' playing field with athletics track, a football pitch and a rounders pitch. There is also a hall equipped for gymnastics and Year 4 pupils receive swimming lessons. Indoor facilities include a 'very good range' of computers to support the curriculum. Additional support is available for children with special educational needs. Extra-curricular activities on offer include line dancing, French and gardening, and there are 'booster' clubs in maths and English for Year 6 pupils. Many pupils successfully participate in music and drama festivals. The school boasts a 'high level' of musical instrument provision and an orchestra. The school regards itself as a 'focus' of the community. Pupils take part in Crowle Carnival and visit elderly residents in the village. There is also a policy of 'close liaison' with parents and they are welcome to help around the classroom or on educational visits.
