Background:
Cordeaux is a community school catering for pupils aged 11-19. It has 620 pupils of whom 65 are in the sixth form. It is on a very pleasant and extensive site with a full range of facilities including playing fields, sports hall, gym, music and practice rooms, design and technology areas, six science laboratories and a highly praised learning support unit. It has also a sixth form block. There has been considerable investment in information and communication technology across the school. There are now specialist rooms for information and communication technology lessons, including 10 interactive whiteboards, which bring greater interest and excitement to lessons. The school aims to provide a caring community where individuals are valued and where they are encouraged to develop their abilities and to the full and so have a positive self-image.
