Background:
Malcolm Sargent Primary School caters for approximately 580 plus children between the age of four and 11 years. It opened in 1970 with 14 children and has occupied the present building since September 1974 with further extensions in 1978, 1991, 1995 and 1996. It is for day pupils' only. The school has become Grant Maintained in 1993 moved to Foundation Status in September 1999 following fresh government initiatives. The name 'Malcolm Sargent' was given to the school by the Founder Governors in 1970. At Malcolm Sargent Primary School there are variety of sporting events and clubs such as football, netball, running and rugby.
