Background:
The school is housed in 'spacious, well-maintained' premises built in 1971 to replace the original Victorian buildings. The 'attractive' grounds are used for curricular and extra-curricular football, netball, hockey, short tennis, gymnastics, cricket, athletics and rounders. All children go swimming each year and a number of them have won Gold ASA awards. The school choir sings at the local hospital and at residential homes for the elderly, while musical tuition is available for the flute, clarinet, trumpet, violin, cello, keyboard and guitar. Due to housing growth, the school is increasingly popular but an extension added in 1999 has meant the the school is no longer heavily oversubscribed.
