Background:
Walton Girls' High School is an 11 to 16 community school situated on Kitty Briggs Lane off Harlaxton Road on the outskirts of Grantham. The school was opened on its present site in 1966. Facilities are regularly refurbished and modernised making a very pleasant and secure environment on a single site, which is particularly green and attractive with many mature trees surrounding the extensive sports field. Most recent additions to the school building are a new modern foreign language block has been in use since 2000. A suit of four specialist science laboratories was officially opened in 2000. A wide range of extra-curricular activities are offered at lunchtime and after-school. The school ethos is centred on a shared passion for learning, success and continuous improvement. It believes in the traditional values of hard work and good behaviour within a caring and welcoming environment.
