Background:
St Bede's is a Roman Catholic School and the Trustee is the Bishop of Nottingham. The school is wholly committed to the search for excellence in all its students. Religious education is at the heart of the curriculum. All pupils are encouraged to participate fully in sport with the intention of pursuing a life-long interest in order to develop health and fitness. All major games are coached during curriculum time with soccer, rugby, hockey, netball, basketball, badminton and table tennis being played during the winter and cricket, tennis, athletics and rounders in summer. The school has three netball courts and four tennis courts on the playground. There are two soccer pitches (one is also used for rugby), one hockey pitch and one artificial cricket wicket on the field. Basketball is played in the gym and badminton in the hall and gym.
