Background:
The Brown's Church of England Primary School, Horbling was founded in 1691 by the will of Edward Brown. It moved to its present site in 1957. An extension to the school was completed in April 2002 and consisted of a new classroom (currently housing Years 1/2), a parents' area and cloak/toilet facilities. The staffroom, kitchen and Year 5/6 classroom have also been refurbished. In addition to this, further remodelling plans for the school, which include a new hall, have been submitted to the Diocese. The site is open and spacious and features a conservation area and pond, peace tree and reflection area, extensive playing fields, a trim trial and playground. A wide range of extra-curricular activities are offered at lunchtime and after-school. These activities include football, netball, cricket, hockey and rugby. The school aims to serve its community by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice.
