Background:
The first school to be built in the village was in 1723. The present school building was constructed in 1869 and at present there are five classrooms, a good-sized hall and an information technology suite, which is used for children and teacher training. The school field is approximately 10 minutes walk from the school but the school hopes that a field will soon be attached to the school grounds. Children have the opportunity to join a number of different clubs, including football, netball, rounders, athletics, cricket, drama, technology, and recorders. Matches against other schools take place during the year and children also participate in county events. The school aims to provide a safe, caring, friendly, stable and disciplined environment where individual children can learn and develop to the best of their ability.
