Background:
Saint Augustine's School is situated in a quiet residential area of the historic town of Stamford in Lincolnshire. This incorporates our adjacent counties of Rutland, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire although the vast majority of our pupils' belong to the parishes of St Mary and St Augustine, Stamford, Our Lady and St Guthlac, Deeping, St James, St Gilbert's, Bourne and St. Dominic's at RAF Wittering. The log book shows that the school opened on the 28th of November, 1870 and the reason for it's foundation and existence remains fundamentally the same today as it was in those Victorian days.
