Background:
Carre's Grammar School founded by Robert Carre in 1604 and was established on its current site in 1835. Some of its original buildings remained, although a new school was opened in 1904 by the Marquess of Bristol. It has a wide range of facilities including extensive playing fields on site and a short walk away. The school has a wide variety of extra-curricular activities including sports, chess, quizzes, art, music and public speaking. Recent destinations for educational visits have included France, Italy and Spain. The school aims to maintain safe and happy learning environment. It also aims to encourage respect for oneself, for school and for the wider community.
