Background:
Newton on Trent Church of England Primary School is a small village school, built in 1857. The original building now contains the infant department Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2 are now accommodated in two newly built classrooms. In 1983 the school was extensively modernised and refurbished and the office, cloakrooms and storage rooms are now housed within the main building. Children are taught to handle IT equipment and software confidently and purposefully to communicate and handle information and to support their problem solving, recording and expressive work. Music is well established and much valued at all levels in everyday school life and beyond, through participation in music festivals and visits to concerts. The school aims to offer a happy, caring and stimulating environment with equal opportunity for all its children.
