Background:

Kesteven and Grantham Girls' School opened in 1910 on a site overlooking Grantham. There were a number of building programmes in the 1960s and 1970s. Improvements in the 1990s created two new classroom blocks for languages and English. New developments are planned for a sports hall, a drama studio and a business studies room, and extensions are planned to science, design and technology and ICT facilities. Many students receive instrumental tuition and attend Grantham Music School on Staurdays, and some are in the county youth orchestra. Extra-curricular activities include Young Enterprise, the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme, engineering and public-speaking. Specialist science college status.
