Background:

The Robert Manning Technology College has a leisure complex on the campus, which provides a large sports hall and access to swimming and fitness training facilities. Sport and physical education are of a high standard, enabling many students to be part of successful college teams and gain county team places. Extra-curricular activities include hockey, football, netball, cricket, tennis, basketball, rounders, badminton, athletics, cross-country, table tennis and gymnastics. A variety of clubs exist and a choir with high standards of performance leads the annual carol service in Bourne Abbey Church; a wind band including both brass and woodwind instruments plays a major role in concerts. A modern curriculum with an unparalleled blend of academic and vocational subjects is available to students. There are extensive opportunities in the school's specialist subjects ie ICT, mathematics, science and design technology. The school aims to promote both academic and personal development in all pupils to the extent of the individual's abilities and aptitudes and to equip each pupil as best possible to enter the world of work and adult society.
