Background:
Founded in 1993, the school stands in 'superb' grounds with a field, hard play areas, a garden, a greenhouse, playhouse and pond. The school has two wings, each with two classes in a semi-open plan layout. In addition to 'a commitment to raising standards and keeping them at a high level', the school is being developed as a centre for the arts, in particular music and drama, and an 'inspiration to other schools in the area'. The school has an 'excellent sporting tradition' being current holders of the Magdalen Invitation six-a-side football trophy, and having recent wins in cross-country events. Extra-curricular classes include 'Watch', an investigative nature and practical gardening activity, chess, football, netball, rounders, cricket, choirs, recorders, dance and challange (problem solving) at various times in the year. Different charities and local events are supported, for example 'Love in a Box' for Kosovo. Annual residential trips are a highlight of the school year along with an 'impressive' pantomime production with 'full pyrotechnics and extra-ordinary lighting effects'.
