Background:
St Anne's is a Church of England Controlled co-educational primary school catering for children aged 4-11. The foundation stone for original school, which was situated on the corner of St Anne's street and Dudley road. As well as a school, the building was used as a chapel and also as a meeting place for the new Somerby literacy institute. The school is well equipped and can cater for upto 235 pupils in eight classes. The school has a large computer suite with 16 computers as part of the county's NETlinc programme. Religious education is taught in the school although parents may opt for their children to be excluded from religious education lessons and/or acts of excellence. All eight classrooms have a computer that is linked to suite as well as an interactive whiteboard for the most upto date teaching using computer technology. There are also computer and internet access points in the general shared areas. The school'strives to provide the opportunity for each child to achieve their potential as fully as possible in a happy and Christian school .
