Background:

Whitgift School is a fully comprehensive school serving the community. The school has superb accommodation facilities. It includes a new teaching block, which was opened in 1999 with six classrooms and two modern dining room facilities and a mezzanine used as a computer suite. The school also has a well-resourced and staffed library with over 7000 books, nine computers and a wide screen television and video facility. It also has a large sports hall, a spacious gymnasium, two swimming pools and extensive playing fields. A wide range of extra-curricular activities are offered to students at lunchtime and after-school. These include badminton, table tennis, rugby and girls' football. The school is a community of people working together to provide a safe and secure environment in which its students develop as a caring, confident, responsible human beings.
